John David Robinson
June 29th, 2017 | last Update: 2 years ago
John David Robinson passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 15th, 2017, at his residence in Chipley, Florida.
David grew up in Sarasota, Florida; attended Bay Haven Elementary, Sarasota Junior High and graduated from Sarasota High School. As a young teenager, the Boy Scouts played a big part in his life. Striving to follow in the footsteps of his father, John Wesley Robinson, David’s goal was to become an Eagle Scout.
He achieved Life Scout designation and the Boy Scout program taught him many things and fostered his love for the outdoors that lasted his entire life. David loved the simple things in life, and nothing made him happier than spending a weekend camping, boating, fishing or hunting with his friends.
David was very talented in many areas, including automobile mechanics. He enjoyed working on his Plymouth Roadrunner muscle car in high school; he even removed and replaced the big V-8 engine and transmission on his own!
He and his wife, Audrea Taylor, began dating soon after high school, and they were married in 1986. They moved to Panama City Beach, Florida, where David opened Bay Home Repair. He ran the small business and used his extensive background in the construction industry to do a variety of remodel and repair work and was very successful. They had a son and daughter, Wesley and Morgan, of whom David was enormously proud.
David will be greatly missed by many friends and family, including his loving and devoted mother, Treva Robinson; his wife, Audrea Taylor Robinson; son, Wesley Eugene Robinson; and daughter, Morgan Carin Robinson; his sister, Jean Robinson Kernus, and brother, Stephen Robinson; sister-in-law, Vivian Robinson, and brother-in-law, Mitchell Kernus; two nephews, Jordan Robinson, and Max Kernus; and two nieces, Jenna Robinson, and Kendall Kernus. David’s loving and well-respected father, John Wesley Robinson, predeceased him. Rest in Peace, David.
A Celebration of Life will be held at First United Methodist Church, 104 S. Pineapple Avenue, Sarasota, Florida, Saturday, July 8th, 2017, at 11am.
